A fully funded three-month programme for professionals from varied backgrounds seeking to strengthen practical policy skills for securing a positive future in a world with powerful AI. Two tracks available: Research Track and Applied Track.
Tracks
- Research Track: Produce a substantive piece of AI policy research with an IAPS researcher or external supervisor.
- Applied Track: Hands-on policy work (workshops grant evaluation policy memos).
Day-to-Day Experience
- Work independently on projects ranging from drafting briefings organizing convenings advancing research reviewing legislative drafts and working on technical guidelines
- Weekly meetings with mentor (AI policy expert) and IAPS manager
- Present project in final week
- Begin with 2-week in-person event in D.C. (Feb 22 - Mar 5 2027)
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to professionals from diverse backgrounds: policy technical academic government programs operations event organizing grantmaking
- No prior technical AI experience required
- Looking for people who want to develop careers in AI policy
- Additional for D.C./London track: $3,000 extra stipend
- Travel & Accommodation: Provided for the 2-week D.C. residential event
- Part-time options: Available for exceptional candidates
