The University of Warsaw (UW) offers 325 fully funded PhD places across 26 academic disciplines for the 2026/27 session. These are not a separate scholarship scheme but statutory doctoral scholarships: tuition-free education plus a guaranteed monthly stipend for 48 months.
Four Doctoral Schools
1. Interdisciplinary Doctoral School
2. Doctoral School of Humanities
3. Doctoral School of Social Sciences
4. Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences
Currently 1,700+ doctoral candidates enrolled across these schools.
Financial Coverage
- Doctoral scholarship guaranteed for 48 months: PLN 4,346 gross/month (before mid-term assessment) increasing to PLN 5,500.50 gross/month (after assessment).
- Disability certificate holders receive additional PLN 1,071.15/month.
- Tuition-free: PhD studies at Polish public universities are free.
- Scholarship to Start: Top 20% of admitted candidates per discipline receive additional award for 12 months.
