PhD Positions on Silicon-Carbide Quantum Networks at TU Delft, Netherlands

Project Overview

About the Position

TU Delft is recruiting several PhD candidates to join the Taminiau Lab at QuTech for research on quantum networks based on spin defects in silicon carbide (SiC). The project develops SiC devices that enable fast optical entanglement links and high-fidelity spin-qubit control, combining the design and fabrication of nano-photonic SiC devices with quantum optics experiments.

The goal is to demonstrate small but scalable quantum networks for distributed quantum computation, simulations and communication. The Taminiau Lab is an international and collaborative group where people from different backgrounds work closely together, share ideas openly and support each other's development.

Research Areas

  • Spin defects in silicon carbide for quantum networking
  • Design and fabrication of nano-photonic SiC devices
  • Quantum optics experiments for optical entanglement links
  • High-fidelity spin-qubit control for scalable quantum networks
